How do I care for my Banig products?

Each product is made by hand and may vary in design, color, texture and size. Any incidental marks, tonal changes, and/or textual variances are part of the material’s natural characteristics and should not be considered as imperfections.

In case of dirt or stain, do not use any soap or cleaning product, instead we recommend wiping your bag gently with a damp cloth in the direction of the weave. Let your bag dry naturally. It’s best not to use chemicals in the cleaning process.

What type of Banig is used?

You might find it interesting that Banig, as it's widely known, is actually crafted from bariw leaves (commonly called pandan). These leaves scientifically belong to the Pandanus copelandii species, which is part of the Pandanaceae family.

The art of making Banig or woven mats has a rich history, with its origins traced back to the picturesque province of Antique, especially in the Municipality of Libertad.
